The portal has been developed by the Office of Bushfire Risk Management (OBRM) to assist local governments to develop, maintain and review their Bushfire Risk Management (BRM) Plans.

The BRM Program supports local governments to reduce bushfire risk.
A BRM Plan helps local governments identify and manage bushfire risks within their district, considering all land regardless of tenure. The plan also provides a treatment strategy for land managed by local government.
The Guidelines for Preparing a Bushfire Risk Management Plan outline the process for developing a BRM Plan, while the Bushfire Risk Management Planning Handbook provides practical guidance on applying the BRM risk assessment methodology.
